Ballast Spiritualization Center is an interactive installation created for Night of the Arts at Platform Arts in Vaasa, Finland. Asgary draws upon local folklore and Finish mythology in an exploration of the underworld through water, beverages culled from foraged invasive North American species, light, and sound, guised as the underbelly of a ship--the ballast room. Viewers are offered vibrating cushions and everyday objects that pump and squeak with absurd beverage ceremonies.
