The Sound of the Fucking Wind

A small boulder is placed on two sides of a fjord and a group of people on each side is instructed to throw the boulder as far forward as possible, and after doing so, to communicate the sound to the group across the fjord--one at a time, alternating sides. Created in Denmark as part of ET4U's Meetings video and performance festival, the score responds to the specific location--what was once a fishing auction where fishermen would echo their catch across boats to the mainland and Denmark's immigration policies that weaponize waterways and boats to separate refugees from the mainland, in a performative and experiential comment on the absurdity of labor and the impossibility of communication. The piece continued until one side decided they could no longer.
